Port Douglas Wedding Reception Ideas
Every wedding reception should have a theme, whether it’s personal or simply something you love. We recently assisted with the styling of a wedding in Port Douglas, transforming Salsa Bar & Grill with an elegant and simplistic, vintage, country feel.
Daisies, hyacinths, and lisianthus placed in vintage milk bottle jars served as table decorations…
Beams and posts were decorated with flowers in the same vintage jars used on the tables…
Bride Chelsea had an ‘Amore’ sign made with bunting and a matching bouquet of roses sat close by…
The wedding cake had precious porcelain toppers that were loaned to the bride by her grandmother..
And, of course, those all-important floral accents from Floral Edge!
Bride Chelsea was thrilled with the overall look:
“It was so nice to walk into the reception and have it exactly as I imagined. It really was my dream wedding and I was so lucky to have had such talented professionals around me to make it happen.”
Another Stunning Port Douglas Wedding
Port Douglas really is the place to be for beautiful weddings…
Gorgeous Sujata Baskaran travelled up here from “down south” and selected stunning bouquets of hot pink and white orientals, for herself and her delightful attendants. With thanks to Rob from Port Douglas Wedding Photography for these images from the Sugar Wharf and St Marys Church.
Adelaide Bride, Port Douglas Wedding
We recently had the pleasure of working with gorgeous Adelaide couple Lauren and Patrick, and received some lovely feedback from the mother of the bride. Thank you!
“I thought I would express our thanks for the wonderful bouquet you made for Lauren. As we are from Adelaide we expected it all to be very difficult arranging flowers via e mail. Luckily Lauren found you!!!! The roses, size of bouquet, colours - everything really, was spot on. Lauren was absolutely delighted. It was a wonderful romantic wedding and the flowers highlighted the beauty of Lauren’s dress. Thank you so much for a fantastic job.”
- Cheryl Appelby, (Bride’s mother)

The newlyweds were blissfully happy! And yes – the flowers did turn out beautifully…

A Port Douglas Wedding Thank you
Local tourism dynamo Chelsea sent us the most wonderful thank you after her recent wedding:
“Thanks again for making our day so special. You were so spot on with everything I needed, and you knew what I want, even if I didn’t know at the time! I had so many compliments on the flowers and decorations, and I have you to thank for that. You really helped me make my dream wedding all come together.”
And you were wonderful to work with, too, Chelsea. Thanks again. x
A stunning bride…stay tuned for more images…
This is why people get married in Port Douglas!
We were so thrilled to be asked to supply the flowers for Vicky and Paul’s Port Douglas Wedding – a wonderful couple and AMAZING photography from Tracey at Azure Photography based in Kuranda.
Vicky chose a posy of white roses surrounded with fern to tie in with Paul’s fab buttonhole….
Blue Singapore orchids surrounded the roses in the posy for Paul’s daughter…
No flowers in this pool shot, but we had to show you as it’s awesome!
Buttonholes for the Groom
It can be tricky trying to come up with the right buttonhole for the groom, but Vicky and Paul had the perfect solution when they married recently in Port Douglas – a native fern all the way from New Zealand. The perfect reminder of home…
Sunshine on a rainy Port Douglas wedding day
Melbourne bride Danielle still radiated sunshine despite the disappointing wet weather during her recent Port Douglas nuptials.
Using parsley as wedding bouquet foliage
Yes it sounds rather strange: using parsley as foliage for your wedding bouquet. But the bright leaves add a splash of color and unique texture. The idea is nothing new; brides in ancient Greece often carried a mix of herbs and blossoms designed with specific meanings and intentions, and modern-day brides like Dee from Sydney are rediscovering the beauty, significance and durability of herbs in their wedding arrangements.
